and give you the opportunity from time to time to receive marketing material from SSPA.
SSPA does not sell any information about its customers to any other third party. SSPA itself may ask you if you wish to receive direct marketing material from our firm, and which information you wish to have included on a separate marketing mailing list. We will abide by your decision on whether to receive further direct marketing material from our business.
Methods of collecting personal information
Personal Collection: We store the personal information you enter on the SSPA site or otherwise give to SSPA. You may provide information when you request or acquire a product or service from SSPA, provide a product or service to SSPA, complete a survey or questionnaire, or when you communicate with SSPA by e-mail, telephone or in writing (for example if you contact customer service or provide feedback). In most cases where SSPA asks you to provide information about yourself, if you do not provide SSPA with that information, SSPA will not be able to provide you with the requested product or service.
Indirect collection: SSPA endeavours to collect personal information about an individual only from that individual. In some circumstances SSPA may obtain personal information from a third party. If you provide personal information about another person to SSPA, SSPA requires that you inform that person you have done so and provide them with a copy of this policy.
Automatic collection: Cookies: We may use a feature of your browser called a cookie to assign your computer a 'User ID'. Cookies do not contain information by which SSPA can identify you. They identify your computer to our servers. You may configure your browser so that you are notified before a cookie is downloaded or so that your browser does not accept cookies. SSPA may use information contained in cookies to make assumptions about the user of the computer and to provide users of that computer with focused advertising which SSPA believes may be of interest, based on that information. To disable your cookies, please refer to the help menu within your Internet browser.
Online security
SSPA has elected to use a third party website host provider whose business is to provide robust and secure Internet solutions. Our website is independently hosted by Sitesuite, who use secure LLL software for online transactions. They undertake to protect any user information that is stored within their database.
SSPA acknowledges that you will click through to third party sites from our sites, and thus recommends that you refer to the
privacy statement of the sites you visit. SSPA's privacy statement is applicable for SSPA, and assumes no responsibility for information and content of third party sites.
Sitesuite’s systems do use cookies to assist you in the site, and to give feedback to SSPA so we can improve the website for future users. Internally, SSPA routinely records summary Internet traffic only (Total number site visits, pages visited, number of visitors, operating platform %s, ISPs). We do not routinely record or store any honest individual visitors cookies. Sitesuite does not warrant the security of your information in transmission, nor once our office has received it. Small Systems PA Hire has independent password, virus and firewall protection throughout its computer network.
SSPA reserves the right to pursue anyone who undertakes illegal activities on or through www.sspa.com.au, using appropriate Australian and international legislation to protect both our customers and ourselves.
Do NOT send credit card information via the Internet to SSPA.
Customers wishing to use EFTPOS or credit card facilities need to ring mail or fax their details. The reason for this is that Sitesuite does not consider our E-commerce Bank’s facility sufficiently secure. We prefer to work with an ISP who is aware of and taken measures to reduce the risk of online fraud. We appreciate this may create an extra layer to transactions, but it gives both SSPA and the customer a greater sense of security.
Actual commercial transactions are done on our encrypted, password protected finance software. This information is retained for up to three years post-last sale, for the purposes of warranties and ancillary extras.
Review and deletion of personal information
You have the right to seek access the personal information held about you and to advise SSPA of any inaccuracy. There are some exceptions to this right set out in the Privacy Act.
SSPA's archiving system deletes ‘inactive’ customers as part of the end-of-financial-year changeover.
You may elect to remove your information sooner by contacting our office, with the provision that your financial account is in order and all monies have been received.
If you wish to verify what, if any information is being kept on our records, or wish to address concerns about our respect for your privacy, please fax us on 612 9584 1352, phone on 612 9584 9999, e-mail us at
